Starting the search for an assisted living community is a big step. However, choosing the right community makes a significant difference. You’ll want to find a place that truly suits your loved one’s needs. And that starts with the living space, including the physical layout and floor plan.
Assisted living rooms should feature thoughtfully designed layouts. There should be built-in safety measures, essential services, and opportunities for personalization. Your complete checklist for the right room will depend on your needs and wants.
Together, these features make the room and community feel like home.
Typical Assisted Living Room Layouts
The layout of an assisted living room is more important than most people think. You’ll want a community that offers a comfortable, functional space. That’s why we offer options at The Athenaeum by Peregrine Senior Living.
Residents can choose standard furnishings offered by the community or personalize their space with their own furnishings and decor.

Amenities Offered in Assisted Living
The room layout isn’t the only thing that matters. The amenities offered by the future community are just as essential. Ideally, a community should offer amenities and services designed to make everyday life more comfortable and convenient for your loved one.
No matter what room option your loved one chooses, our community offers a variety of key amenities.

- An on-site beauty salon & barber shop where they can unwind & treat themselves

🇺🇸 A big shout out to all those staff and volunteers who made this July 4th one to remember.
🇺🇸 We enjoyed a discussion group with a local History teacher on The American Revolution and famous faces of that time period. We got to watch a few of our younger volunteers drawing chalk pictures on the sidewalks for us and we could not resist a few sing-a-long songs to some of our favorite patriotic tunes.
🇺🇸 Thought of The Day: What memory or experience makes you feel the most patriotic?
🇺🇸 We hope your holiday was as memorable as ours was. ... See MoreSee Less

🇮🇹 It’s never a bad idea to circle back to Italy in our travels around the world. Reminiscing about each others trips, discussing culture, current events and topography.
🇮🇹 Nicole’s dishes never disappoint, as she served authentic Italian cuisine with Italian music and a dry red wine that paired well with the fresh pasta from a local market.
🇮🇹 Italian fact of the day: Italy became a unified country of its own in 1861. ... See MoreSee Less

We took the break in the rain as an opportunity to release our butterflies. ⛅️
The butterflies were very excited to be in the fresh air and quickly spread their wings. 🦋
I think it’s safe to say a program was a success when you hear someone say “I have not touched a butterfly since I was a child”. ⭐️

✨ Who’s Who Wednesday! ✨
This week we’re shining the spotlight on Cindy, one of our amazing RMA’s! 💙
🏡 Cindy has been part of The Athenaeum family for almost 2 years.
🛒 Her very first job was bagging groceries at Winn Dixie in Florida.
🐶 When she’s not at work, you’ll find her hanging out with her dogs and boyfriend or doing a little online shopping.
🍝 Favorite foods? Italian cuisine and Red Bull! 😄
🌴 Fun fact: Cindy was born and raised in Florida and has only been living in New York for the past 8 years. Even more impressive, she has dedicated 28 years to healthcare!
❤️ Cindy has a huge heart and genuinely cares about both our residents and her coworkers.
Thank you, Cindy, for everything you do for our residents and team! 👏🎉
