It is always a pleasure when Mrs Herr’s Third Grade class visits from State Street Elementary School.
For our final visit before school ends, we had a brief discussion about what makes the 4th of July more special this year over other years, the Semi Quincentennial.
Then, with the help of our residents, the children completed a questionnaire that they will hopefully save and look back on fifty years from now.
Our residents got to share with the children what the Bicentennial or 200 year Anniversary was like 50 years ago and how life was different then compared to now and we all shared what we thought might change in the next 50 years.

Happy Flag Day. 🇺🇸

In honor of Flag Day, we took some time this week to begin preparing ourselves for July, a month to celebrate our country’s 250th Anniversary. With the help from a friend at The American Legion, we respectfully retired our old flag, we raised a new flag, discussed the history of the American Flag, played some of our favorite patriotic music and had a history lesson with a timeline and order of events including The Revolution, The Constitution, The Declaration of Independence and The American Bill of Rights.
Thank you to all who were able to join us.

We could not have asked for better weather for our trip to The Montezuma winery for lunch and wine tasting. Since we were out that way, we could not resist pulling into The Montezuma Wildlife Refuge as well. This will certainly not be our last trip to either spot! ... See MoreSee Less

Visiting with a local Girl Scout Troop is always a special treat. Beautiful music and a great group to play Chat Pack with!

Chat Pack question of the day:

Everyone hears discussions that they consider boring. What topic can put you to sleep more quickly than any other?

What would your response be?
